Tamara and Sheldon tied the knot on July 13 and their day was nothing short of amazing. This was also our first wedding of the season so we were super excited to dive right into a day full of love and laughter. We come to know that weddings are almost always emotional, but sometimes they run high for more reasons that all of those expected. Tamara’s beloved grandmother passed away just months before her wedding. It was evident she was on their minds throughout the day but then Lisa got to witness something extremely special that would assure Tamara that her grandma would be with her all day long. Her mom quietly pulled her aside to gift her a ring that had been passed down in the family for generations before. Now Tamara was adorned in everything she needed to walk down the aisle <3.
Lisa and I began our morning with the ladies getting ready in Andrew and I migrated over to Myrnam to meet up with the guys. The ceremony was held at the Kitt family farm just outside of Myrnam, surrounded by luscious greenery, canola fields, and rustic farm buildings. It was a HOT HOT HOT afternoon, but before we knew it the bride and groom pledged their vows to each other and were married by their good friend, Jessica Littlewood.
We spent the afternoon photographing the bridal party at Sheldon’s baba’s farm just off the North Saskatchewan River and had fun shooting with the wedding party among the gorgeous farm buildings throughout the yard. The wedding party was decked out in red and white which made for the perfect photos amid the red barn and rustic buildings. It was a hot and humid afternoon filled with pesky mosquitoes but the newlyweds and wedding party braved through it with us and it wasn’t long until we were off to the reception in Vegreville.
Being local to Vegreville, Lisa and I attend quite a few events at the Social Center and we’re always excited to see how the hall is decorated. When Tamara told us what their wedding theme was, we were super stoked to enter the hall…and completely blown away by the attention to details! Tamara and Sheldon totally nailed the “Beauty and the Beast meets Ukrainian-tradition” theme and the shiny gold with pops of brilliant red throughout really set this wedding decor apart from others. The Ukrainian meal was absolutely delicious and Millenia, like always, brought the energy to the dance floor!
Thanks for allowing us to capture your special day and we wish you a lifetime of happiness, Mr. and Mrs. Kitt!
