It’s hard to believe that we’re almost at the end of the summer, but I always enjoy the gear down as we enter into the winter season (don’t hate me for loving the snow!).

2022 was a busy year for us, especially considering we crammed a ton of delayed COVID weddings into one year. Coming out of 2022, Lisa and I decided to book a limited amount of weddings to make the most out of our summer and to ensure we had plenty of time to get away with our girls to the lake or simply enjoy a ‘rare’ weekend at home.

Christy and Derek’s wedding was our second of the year and nothing short of amazing. Everything about the day was laid back; Christy and Derek were super easy to work with and the entire wedding party’s easy-going nature provided for a rare yet appreciated relaxed day of shooting. Christy’s parents did an AMAZING job getting their gorgeous yard ready for photos which made it easy for us to find plenty of areas to shoot. The smoke in the air from the BC wildfires tamed down the excruciating summer heat and actually made for some really nice lighting.

After a busy day of shooting outside we always treasure the moment of sitting down down during the reception, grabbing a quick drink and catching our breath. Like always, Esteem Wedding & Event Rentals did an outstanding job decorating the hall to the nines, and don’t event get me started on that scrumptious prime rib dinner (I still talk about it)!
